Moonwalks have been around for a lot of years but have only reached widespread popularity recently. They can be rented for birthday parties or church functions. The moonwalks are those large, inflated castles or slides with the long line of youngsters waiting their turn to bounce around inside. Safety and setup are very important with these moonwalks. Supervision and correct instruction must be given in order for the party to be a success.

1. Proper setup is non-negotiable.
The best and easiest way is to have the rental company install it when they deliver. You will need to ensure that all low hanging branches and shrubs have been cleared to make room for the size of the jumping castle. The area must be flat, preferably all grass with no cement, bricks, rocks or gravel around. The corners must be staked into the ground and held down with sandbags to make sure the jumping castle does not slip and slide while in use.

2. Always have a grown up posted as a supervisor.
Ensure they are aware of the operation of the moonwalk before being left alone to tend to the kids. Entrance into the jumping castle is through a front door and should be performed on all fours or from a sitting position. No shoes are to be worn inside and all sharp objects such as bracelets and glasses must be removed before entering.

3. Pick the theme for your party and choose a jumping castle to go with it.
For example, if your daughter is turning five you may want to rent a princess themed bouncer or, if your son is turning fourteen, you might rent a medieval styled one where the birthday boy and guests can joust inside with each other. Moonwalks come in all shapes and sizes. Here’s a thought: rent a large giraffe shaped jumping castles for your promotion that could be seen far away and instantly attract people’s attention. Grown ups won’t have to worry about their children while they are browsing.
